Both formats support letters, photos, audio, and video. Scanning does not require a Reanimation Lab app or a recipient payment. A share code can be forwarded, so it should be treated as access to the keepsake after it opens.

Review who gets the code
Private visibility keeps the keepsake out of public discovery. The viewing link and QR are shareable: anyone holding the code can open revealed content. Choose Public only when you want public discovery. Read the sharing guide.
Keep copies outside the service
Save the letter and original media in a named folder, with a second copy elsewhere. The QR links to the hosted page; it does not contain a backup of the files. Test the final printed code before sealing the envelope and check it again before a future reveal.
