• Account details: When you create an account or sign in, we collect identifiers such as your name, email address, username, and the authentication credentials provided by email magic link or Google OAuth. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile details Google shares with us (name, email, and profile image) and store them with your account.
• Time capsule content: We store the text, images, audio, video, unlock dates, tags, and other material that you upload or create so that we can save and deliver your capsules according to your instructions.
• Shared and gifted capsule information: When you invite collaborators or gift a capsule, we collect the contact information and messages you provide for recipients so that we can notify them and honor the delivery schedule you set.
• Support communications: We retain messages and contact details you send to [email protected] or through in-product forms to respond to your questions and provide support.
• Usage data: We automatically receive certain technical information when you visit our site, such as IP address, device and browser type, referring/exit pages, and timestamps. This data is used to secure the platform and understand how the service is performing.

How we use your information

• Provide, personalize, and improve the Reanimation Lab experience.
• Authenticate you, maintain your account, and deliver scheduled capsule unlocks.
• Store, process, and deliver the content and media you upload.
• Facilitate gifting features, optional paid programs, and other services you request.
• Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support responses.
• Monitor and protect the security, integrity, and availability of our infrastructure.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies so the service can function (for example, to keep you signed in). We also use limited analytics tools to understand how the site is used:

• Google Analytics: We load Google Analytics to measure how visitors use the site. Google collects information such as page views, approximate location, and device identifiers on our behalf. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. Disabling cookies may limit certain functionality of the service.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We only share information in the following circumstances:

• Service providers: We rely on trusted vendors such as Supabase (application hosting and media storage), Prisma/PostgreSQL (database management), Resend (email delivery), and Google (analytics and authentication) to operate the platform. These partners are permitted to process your information solely to perform services on our behalf and must protect it in accordance with applicable laws.
• Collaborators and recipients: When you share a capsule or send a gift, the people you authorize will see the content and profile details you have chosen to share with them.
• Legal or safety needs: We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with laws or valid legal processes, to protect the rights and safety of Reanimation Lab, our users, or the public, or to detect and prevent fraud or security issues.
• Business transfers: If we undergo a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued protection consistent with this policy.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the services you requested. You may delete capsules at any time from within the application. When you close your account we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we need to retain it to meet legal, tax, or regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Your choices and rights

• Access and update your profile information directly within your account settings.
• Download or delete individual capsules using the management tools in the dashboard.
• Request account deletion or additional data access by emailing [email protected].
• Opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe link in those communications.
• Control analytics or advertising cookies through your browser or platform settings as described above.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your data, including access controls, encryption at rest for stored media, and monitoring for suspicious activity. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we continually assess and improve our protections.

International users

Reanimation Lab is based in Canada. If you access the service from other regions, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in Canada and any other country where our service providers operate.

Families and young users

Reanimation Lab can be enjoyed by storytellers of all ages. We encourage parents or guardians to help younger users understand how their information is used and to participate in creating and managing capsules together. If we learn that information has been provided without the appropriate permission, we will work with families to address the situation promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or our services. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email when appropriate.
